I browse the "free" section of craigslist almost every day because I have my eye out for random housewares and furniture pieces. Usually, the postings are a bust. You'll see a lot of free firewood (um, it's 100 degrees outside) - BUT every now and then you'll find something of use. Yesterday, a local warehouse set out 15 wooden pallets for the taking. Have you seen the wooden pallet craze on pinterest? Believe it or not, making something out of those crazy pieces of wood is on my list of things to do this summer. So, my husband, Oscar doggus, and I drove out to the warehouse late last night and picked out 2 wooden pallets we thought would hold up nicely as a coffee table. Now the reconstruction begins!! I'm off to our local hardware store for sand paper - I don't have a sand machine, is that bad?
Here are a few ideas for the pallets I found on pinterest. Like I said, we're making a coffee table (with wheels), but there are so many other options.
