Paint trick

I love to paint, but when it comes to painting a room, I am not the best.  I get waaaay too messy.  Here's a cool trick I saw on pinterest involving a single rubber band.  I'm definitely going to try it next time I tackle a paint job.

Have a great day!

Just breathe

Lately I've been feeling overwhelmed.  Kyle and I have so much going on that I have to remind myself to just chillax.  Breathe and paint, right?  In this painting I tried to use the same color palette as an old geography globe.  I have an old elementary school globe in my classroom that I just LOVE.  It's even texturized so you can feel the mountainous regions, and the colors remind you of a vintage map.  The continents are a mix of turquoise and blue-green....the ocean a sky blue....mountains and desserts are golden and orange.  I thought it would be neat to translate the colors onto an important piece of human anatomy.  Excuse the analogy, but aren't our lungs kinda like a map to our cardiovascular system?  Without them, we'd be lost? (ok, I took it too far).  In all seriousness...our lungs serve a great purpose and they look amazing while doing it.  I especially had fun creating all the arteries, er...highways...heh heh he.

Okay, I'm done.  Enjoy the painting,

Home

Before and after my Nashville weekend I was able to spend a few nights at home with my parents and favorite doggie, Chesterboy.  When I was just starting high school my family and I moved to Lebanon, Ohio and soon after we got Chester.  He's 14 yrs old now but still one of the happiest and most lovable dogs I know.  I of course moved away to college, to Columbus, and then off to Maryland, but Lebanon has been a great place to call "home."

aren't my parents the cutest?

Have a great day,

Nashville

Had an awesome time seeing the sights of Nashville, but mainly enjoyed spending time with a fantastic group of ladies.  Who knew we'd see a ZZ top guy and Russell Simmons brother? perform.  I still have a cramp in my side from laughing so much.

Today I'm making the drive back to Baltimore where I hope to get a ton accomplished.....this includes a trip to the seamstress where they need to transform one of my bridesmaid dresses into a 6 month maternity dress (good luck to them but I have faith).    I hope to post a few new paintings in the coming weeks but time has been really pressed.

In the meantime, have a great week and keep on keeping on.

Off to Nashville for the weekend!  I've never been, have you?  Any suggestions?  We'll try to stay out of trouble, but this bachelorette party will make it difficult...
