First days

Today is the first day of school in northern Virginia!  I'm ready to meet my new crop of students and begin an eventful and creative year.  

I hung this chalkboard sign inside my classroom.  Students see it as they leave the art room because it's right by the exit door.  Hopefully it makes them pause and consider how to tackle the day.

Back to School

Ready or not, the 2010/2011 school year has begun. I personally can't wait to dive into new projects and work with my elem. kids to develop an awesome portfolio for the year.

How could an iPhone change the world?

I asked this question to my 4th graders and they came up with the best ideas. Since the iPhone has consumed our culture, their task was to create apps for the iPhone that would change the world for the better.

Bus (because 4th graders need to catch a bus)

Donate Food (to help others contribute)

Tree Growing (to promote a greener environment)
